*PROFESSOR YAMSAT ALERTS PUBLIC TO FALSE REPRESENTATIVES OF PLATEAU STATE INTER-FAITH COUNCIL

*** In a recent press release, Professor Pandam Yamsat, the Chairman of the Plateau State Inter-Faith Council, has raised a red flag concerning the emergence of individuals masquerading as leaders of the council. These imposters have falsely claimed authority, tarnishing the revered name and principles of the council. The statement emphasized the council's complete disassociation from a supposed World Press Conference organized by these fraudulent individuals. Professor Yamsat clarified that at no point did the council convene to address or denounce the decisions made by the Court of Appeal nullifying the election of the People's Democratic Candidates during the 2023 general elections in the state. Professor Yamsat urged the general public to disregard any statements purportedly coming from the council, as these misrepresented communications serve only the personal agendas of these individuals and do not reflect the genuine stance or actions of the Plateau State Int

However, a recent decision by PMAN to ban the staging of "Plateau Got Talent" after a lackluster second season has raised questions about the association's authority to restrict non-member show promoters. Section 5 of the Trade Union Act 2005 (Amended) emphasizes that joining a trade union is not obligatory. KINGDOM BUSINESS INTERGRITY

Title: " Kingdom Business Integrity: A Christian's Call to Shine in a Darkened World " Introduction: Good morning, beloved congregation. Today, we gather to discuss an important aspect of our Christian faith: Kingdom Business Integrity. In a world filled with deceit and corruption, how should we, as Christians, conduct ourselves in the realm of business? Let us delve into the Scriptures and the examples of businesspeople in the Bible to find guidance and inspiration. 1. **The Foundation of Integrity: God's Word**    - Proverbs 11:3: "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity."    - Psalm 15:2: "Those who walk blamelessly and do what is right and speak the truth from their heart."    As Christians, our foundation for integrity lies in God's Word. It should guide every decision and action in our business endeavors. 2. **Joseph: A Model of Integrity**    - Genesis 39:6-12: The story of Joseph and

Treat Your Staff Right – They Are Not Slaves: Duke of Jos

In the fast-paced world of business, it's easy to forget that the backbone of any successful organization is its workforce. Employees are not just tools to be used and discarded; they are valuable assets that require care, respect, and fair treatment. It's essential for employers to remember that their staff members are not slaves, but human beings with needs, aspirations, and rights. 1. Fair Compensation: One of the most critical aspects of treating employees right is ensuring they receive fair compensation for their work. Paying below-market wages not only demotivates your staff but can lead to high turnover rates. Fair compensation reflects a company's commitment to valuing its employees and their contributions. 2. Respect and Dignity: Respect should be a cornerstone of any workplace. Employees should be treated with dignity and kindness, regardless of their position within the organization. This means listening to their concerns, acknowledging their ideas, a

Nigerian Mission in Addis Works on Prisoner Transfer Agreement Amid Ongoing Drug Offense Cases

In a perplexing turn of events, several Nigerians who were granted amnesty by Ethiopian authorities have once again found themselves entangled in drug-related offenses, raising questions about the effectiveness of rehabilitation efforts. The initial amnesty was granted after intervention by the Nigerian mission in Addis Ababa, which successfully secured the release of these individuals from prison. However, despite this second chance, virtually all of them have returned to Ethiopia and committed the same offense - drug-related crimes. The veracity of this claim cannot be verified at this point, but the Nigerian mission in Ethiopia has taken note and is actively looking into the situation. It is indeed concerning that despite the diplomatic efforts to secure their release and rehabilitation, these individuals have reverted to their previous criminal activities. Furthermore, it has come to light that a significant number of Nigerians serving sentences in Ethiopian prisons are

Breaking: Tribunal affirms Plateau Assembly PDP lawmaker’s election, dismisses APC candidate’s petition

The National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos has upheld the election of Mr Cornelius Doeyok of Qua’an-Pan South Constituency, Plateau State House of Assembly. Delivering judgment on Monday, the tribunal dismissed the petition filed by PDP and Prof Theodore Maiyaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigerian (SAN), the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against PDP’s Doeyok in the State Assembly election conducted in March this year. Maiyaki, a Professor of Law at the University of Abuja and a SAN, had challenged Doeyok’s victory on the ground that the latter was not qualified to contest for the election and claiming that PDP had no structure prior to producing him as its flag bear for the election. The tribunal however held that all the grounds of the petitioners’ case were pre-election matters, which it has no jurisdiction to entertain, adding that the petitioners should have channeled their complaints to the appropriate court, that is, the H

It was a somber night that would forever haunt the memories of those who witnessed it.  A young man named Fwinbe Bushman, full of dreams and aspirations, found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mistaken identity is a cruel twist of fate, and on that night, it cost him his life.  As the sun dipped below the horizon, a restless mob of Okada riders gathered, fueled by confusion and anger. They surrounded Fwinbe's car, convinced he was someone else. In their frenzy, they began to hurl stones and beat him mercilessly with sticks. His cries for mercy fell on deaf ears, drowned out by the roar of the crowd's fury. Fwinbe Bushman's life was extinguished that night, not by justice, but by the brutality of a mob. His dreams and hopes, shattered in an instant, left a scar on the collective conscience of the nation. In the aftermath, a memorial stone was er

NIGERIA @ 63

Our backs were once bent on our own land, but now we strive to stand tall, fighting for a brighter tomorrow by being stronger today. I proudly represent Nigeria, not just because it bears my name, but because it embodies my heritage and defines my identity. While some may dismiss this pride as unfounded, criticizing me for not hanging my head in shame, I refuse to succumb to the pain caused by the corrosive greed that tarnishes my country's name. I'm weary of the constant violence plaguing my state and other regions, and I'm disheartened by the politicians who seem bent on dismantling our future. However, my pride endures as I gaze upon the resilient faces of my fellow countrymen and women. It's within their unwavering spirit that my true source of pride lies. On this day of independence, I hold onto the belief that Nigeria will not just survive but thrive. And as I look ahead, I dream that one day, I will rise to become Vice President, playing a part in sha
