In a remarkable show of mentorship and human development, the immediate past Speaker and current Minority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dewan K. Gabriel, has reaffirmed his commitment to building people and investing in humanity as seven young men he supported successfully passed out as police constables.
Sharing the news on his social media page, Dewan wrote: “Humanity — seven police constables pass out through me. God used me to fulfil their destiny.” He reflected on the importance of nurturing others, cautioning that “if you don’t build those around you, one day they will grow without you — and don’t expect loyalty from them.”
The Plateau lawmaker, currently on an official trip to Spain, was represented at the passing-out parade by his Personal Assistant, Hon. Manji Yilchir Polit. He congratulated the new police officers and promised to host them on his return, describing their achievement as a shared success.
Dewan, widely admired for his people-centered leadership style, continues to use his influence to promote human capital development across Plateau State. His gesture, many observers say, underscores his belief that true leadership is not measured by titles, but by how many lives one uplifts.
