The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, has unveiled its program of activities for the 2025 Press Week, scheduled to hold from Wednesday, October 15 to Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The five-day event, according to the Planning Committee, will combine professional discourse, health awareness, sports, and cultural displays aimed at positioning the media for future challenges while also fostering unity among journalists on the Plateau.
Highlights of the celebration include a health walk and radio talk shows to sensitize the public on the role of journalism in nation-building, a medical outreach on cervical and prostate cancer, and a colloquium at the Crispan Hotel.
Other activities lined up are a Juma’at prayer session, a novelty football match among NUJ chapels, and a cultural day featuring traditional cuisines and displays from Plateau’s diverse ethnic groups. The week will close with a thanksgiving service.
Chairman of the 2025 Press Week Committee, Farinola John Sunday, and Secretary, Zainab Babaji, described the celebration as “a testament to the enduring spirit of journalists on the Plateau,” urging all members to actively participate.
