As part of the ongoing activities marking Plateau Peace Month 2025, the Plateau State Peace Building Agency, in collaboration with GIZ and German Cooperation, on Wednesday hosted an art exhibition with the theme “Act Now for a Peaceful Plateau.” The event held at Villa Grande Hotel, Gold and Base, Rayfield.
Welcoming participants, the Director General of the Plateau Peace Building Agency, Dr. Julie Sanda, said the exhibition was aimed at using art and creative expression to promote healing, resilience, and peaceful coexistence across the state. She stressed that peace must be built through inclusive dialogue and cultural narratives that bring people together.
Highlights of the day included storytelling, spoken word performances, drama, and music, all centered on messages of peace. A talk was also delivered on the role of art as a voice for peace and healing, encouraging young people to channel creativity towards unity.
The presentation of selected artworks was handled by John Chohu of Chohu Art Gallery, who explained how each piece reflected the resilience of Plateau people and their desire for lasting peace. The exhibition ended with a call for more platforms where art and culture can drive conversations on peaceful coexistence.
