The Plateau State landscape is witnessing the steady rise of a dynamic and result-oriented technocrat, Sir. Datong Dominic Gwaman , the Director-General of the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA).

A native of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, Sir Datong was born on August 4, 1973. His educational and professional journey reflects a blend of excellence, discipline, and capacity. He holds degrees in Electronic Engineering, Business Administration, Conflict, Security and Development, as well as Leadership and Strategic Studies, alongside multiple international ICT certifications. He is widely regarded as a THOROUGHBRED PROFESSIONAL WITH VAST EXPERTISE.

Before his appointment as Director-General of PICTDA, Sir Datong distinguished himself at the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bank of Agriculture, where he played pivotal roles in ICT infrastructure, systems deployment, and digital transformation. His contributions to the modernization of financial and administrative systems have been commended for their lasting impact.

Since assuming office in Plateau State, Sir Datong has championed a number of bold initiatives under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Muftwang . These include the deployment of the Plateau State Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (PLAGIFMIS), the launch of the Pay Plateau App for civil servants, the expansion of digital skills training under the Federal Government’s 3MTT programme, and the establishment of ICT centres across local government councils. Each of these interventions is tailored towards transparency, accountability, efficiency, and youth empowerment.

Sir Datong’s vision extends beyond systems and structures; he is equally passionate about nurturing responsible citizenship. At various public engagements, he has consistently encouraged young people to embrace innovation, use social media responsibly, and position themselves as global competitors in the knowledge economy.

A motorcycle was snapped up by an unknown  person(s) in the office of the Nigeria Police Force, Kwalla . 2023: Catholics Berate Lalong Over Attempt To Drag Pope Into Politics

August 11, 2022  Concerned Catholics in Nigeria have called for the suspension of Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for dragging the name of Pope into local politics that has nothing to do with the Church. According to the group, Lalong should be punished for bringing the name of Pope and the Catholic Church to disrepute while giving his reasons for accepting to serve as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. Speaking as a press conference in Abuja addressed by National Convener/President, Dr Ben Amodu, said the concerned Catholics in Nigeria are alarmed that Lalong would elect to throw caution into the wind by dragging the revered Catholic Church into local politics in Nigeria for whatever it is worth. “The reference to the Pope in his statement for accepting to serve as the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council was made in poor taste and a puerile attempt to drag the Catholic Church into a matter that has no bearing with...
