When you walk through Namu in Qua’an Pan Local Government, you may easily come across a modest but beautiful kiosk filled with neatly arranged shoes.
Behind that shop stands a young man whose life is a clear picture of patience, hard work, and determination, Irmiya Dawang.
Irmiya did not start big. In fact, his journey began back in 2019 with just 10 pairs of handmade palm shoes.
At the time, he was still teaching in Grace of God Secondary School Namu. After the long hours of teaching, he would carry those shoes and hawk them around the community, hoping someone would buy. Some days were tough, but his heart was tougher. He refused to give up.
With consistency, he found a small corner where he displayed his shoes on a simple tampolin leather gradually to a table.
That space became his workshop of hope. Slowly but surely, people began to notice his creativity and dedication. He poured his energy into every stitch, every design, and every sale.
Today, that same young man who once walked the streets hawking after school now owns a well-furnished kiosk, stocked with varieties of shoes.
His shop is not just a business space, it is a testimony of growth, resilience, and vision.
Irmiya is now celebrated as one of the best shoe sellers in Qua’an Pan, inspiring many other young people in his community.
Irmiya’s story reminds us of one simple truth, no beginning is too small when you have patience, consistency, and determination.
Every step counts, every little effort matters, and every dream is valid. His life is proof that with focus, you can rise from hawking on the streets to owning your own brand.
