PLATEAU STATE PDP 10TH HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AIDES VISITED HON. CORNELIUS DOEYOK

PDP PLATEAU STATE 10TH HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AIDES FORUM PAID A CONGRATULATORY VISIT TO HON. CORNELIUS DONGNAAN DOEYOK

6TH MARCH, 2025.

A forum of former legislative and senior legislative aides under the auspices of PDP Plateau state 10th House of Assembly Aides Forum on Thursday 6th March, 2025 paid a congratulatory visit to Hon. Cornelius Dongnaan Doeyok, the honourable commissioner, ministry of tourism, culture and hospitality in his office at J. D. Gomwalk secretariat, Jos. The forum is made up of former legislative aides and senior legislative aides who were appointed by the 16 former house of assembly members of the 10th Plateau State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and later sacked by the court.

The leader of the forum, Gati Davou who spoke on behalf of the other members noted that the aim of the visit was to congratulate Hon. Cornelius Doeyok over his appointment as the commissioner of tourism, culture and hospitality as well as to identify with him and pray over him and the office he occupies. Gati noted that the forum was proud to identify with the honourable commissioner because they know his capacity to transform the ministry and raise it to enviable heights. He recalled with nostalgia the relationship that the members of the forum enjoyed with the honourable commissioner and his former colleagues in the house of assembly who happen to be their bosses, hence the joy of the forum is complete seeing that someone they have been very close to and know very well to be a round peg in a round hole has been appointed to head a critical ministry such as that of tourism, culture and hospitality. The forum through its leader expressed readiness to partner with the commissioner and the ministry as well as other governance structures within the state through a more inclusive and participatory leadership.

In his response, the commissioner expressed happiness with the visit and told the members of the forum how proud he was to learn that they have been able to stick together as a united force even after the unfortunate court judgements that caused the 16 house members and their aides to lose their seats. He encouraged the former aides not to be discouraged by the setback which is already an event of the past but to remain focused and steadfast because God has a bigger plan for everybody. "Sometimes God allows certain things to happen to you in life because He is planning to take you somewhere. I am a practical example of God's grace because even after I had moved on with my life without high expectations in the polity as it is, I was called upon to be a commissioner. It came to me as a surprise when I heard the announcement on the radio", Hon. Doeyok noted. "I encourage you to keep the solidarity going forever and never despair. Keep your spirits very high because among you there are potential commissioners, house members etc" the commissioner added. He assured members of the forum of his willingness to partner with them, support their vision and support their growth in the scheme of things.

The forum concluded the visit by presenting a roll up banner to the honorable commissioner specially designed with his official portrait to create lasting memories of the engagement they had, and then said a powerful prayer and made spiritual pronouncements upon the commissioner for God's mighty hand to be upon him in all he does.

The powerful delegation led by Gati Davou of Riyom Constituency had other members as Nanfa James Rimven Langtang North-North Constituency, Lagya Chindongnaan Nobert
Quaan-Pan South Constituency, Dater Pekop Dawu Pankshin South Constituency, Markus Kiku

August 11, 2022  Concerned Catholics in Nigeria have called for the suspension of Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for dragging the name of Pope into local politics that has nothing to do with the Church. According to the group, Lalong should be punished for bringing the name of Pope and the Catholic Church to disrepute while giving his reasons for accepting to serve as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
