Comrade Daniel Asama is a passionate advocate for change, youth Empowerment, and Community Development. He is the immediate past Country Director of Back2Back, also known as the Community and Children’s Care Center, an American-Nigerian based NGO in Jos Plateau State, where he is dedicated to mentoring and building the capacity of young minds. With a strong belief that the youth are the future and should be well-equipped for success, Comrade Asama has made significant contributions to grassroots sports and entertainment, community projects, and education. As the Country Director of Back2Back, Comrade Daniel Asama has been at the forefront of care giving to over 200 orphans and vulnerable persons, transforming the lives of young individuals and communities. His responsibilities include:
Youth Mentoring and Capacity Building - Comrade Asama has been instrumental in designing and implementing programs that mentor and empower young individuals. He firmly believes that the youth are the future and should be well-equipped for success. Under his leadership, Back2Back has conducted numerous workshops, training sessions, and outreach programs to foster personal and professional growth among the youth.
Community Projects- Comrade Asama has actively contributed to various community development projects, including the drilling of boreholes to provide clean and accessible water to local communities. His commitment to improving living conditions and infrastructure within the constituency is evident through these initiatives.
Community Education Initiatives - Comrade Asama worked closely with his American partners to establish a Primary and Secondary School in Bassa Local Government Area, further enhancing educational opportunities for the youth in the region.
Grassroots Sports and Entertainment: Recognizing the power of sports and entertainment as tools for youth engagement and empowerment, Comrade Asama has been a driving force in promoting grassroot sports and entertainment activities within the Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency. His efforts have not only nurtured talent but also instilled values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership among the youth.
Comrade Asama is also a member of the Red Cross Society of Nigeria where he is active in community health awareness campaigns in and around the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.
Chairman, Bassa LGA Football Association: Comrade Asama serves as the present Chairman of the Bassa Local Government Area Football Association, contributing significantly to football grassroots development in the region.
FIFA Agent: With an impressive career as a FIFA agent, Comrade Asama has successfully facilitated the professional careers of several players in both Europe and Nigeria, showcasing his expertise in football management.
Chairman, Association of Orphanages and Home Operators of Nigeria (ASOHON) Plateau State: Comrade Asama also serves as the Chairman of the Association of Orphanages and Home Operators of Nigeria (ASOHON) in Plateau State, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of vulnerable children on the Plateau and in Nigeria at large.
He is also a Ranking member of the Hunters Association of Nigeria an organisation that is active in nature preservation and the control of illegal poaching of wild game in Nigeria.
Legislative Experience: Having worked for over a decade as a staff member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Comrade Asama possesses an in-depth knowledge of legislation and governance, which he can leverage to benefit his constituents.
Awards and Achievements: He has received National recognition for his outstanding contributions, including winning a National Award in website and database development and ranking as the second best in database and computer script writing in Nigeria in the year 2010.
Comrade Asama is a graduate member of the National Association of Criminologist and security practitioners of Nigeria (NACSP). A Member Institute of Human Capital Development. An alumni of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies' Strategic Leadership Course on "Sustainable Cities and Communities".
He is Married to Mrs. Evelyn Asama and they are blessed with Children.
