Congratulations on Your Inauguration as the Executive Governor of Plateau State


On behalf of the State Chapter of the Alumni Association of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, AMANO I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your recent inauguration as the Executive Governor of Plateau State. Your remarkable achievements in the past no doubt reflects your dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving the people of Plateau State.

As you embark on this crucial role, I would like to emphasize the significance of addressing key areas that hold great potential for the growth and development of Plateau State in particular, we urge your administration to prioritize the following areas:

1. Security: The safety and well-being of the people should be of paramount importance. By focusing and improving security in rural communities and fostering collaboration with relevant stakeholders. We can create an environment conducive for economic growth and social harmony.

2. Tourism: Plateau State is blessed with breathtaking landscapes, cultural diversity, and historical sites. Investing in the development of tourism infrastructure and promoting the state's unique attractions will not only boost the local economy but also create employment opportunities to the citizens when the needed direct foreign investment is attracted to the sector.

3. Inland Dry Port: Enhancing the logistics infrastructure through the completion and operation of the acquired Inland Dry Port will significantly contribute to trade facilitation and attract investment to the state. This move would streamline transportation, reduce costs, and improve the efficiency of goods movement and provide new business opportunities to the citizens.

4. Agro-Processing Zones: (Agro Free Trade Zone ). Agriculture plays a pivotal role in the state's economy. By establishing agro-processing zones, will encourage value addition, increase agricultural productivity, and create avenues for farmers to access markets. This initiative will not only improve food security but also contribute to rural development and job creation.

As the Alumni Association of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron,  we pledge our unwavering loyalty, support and collaboration with your administration to achieve these goals and many others. As professionals in the maritime sector and logistics, we are eager to contribute our expertise and resources to the development of Plateau State.

Congratulations once again on your well-deserved appointment as Governor.

A motorcycle was snapped up by an unknown  person(s) in the office of the Nigeria Police Force, Kwalla . 2023: Catholics Berate Lalong Over Attempt To Drag Pope Into Politics

August 11, 2022  Concerned Catholics in Nigeria have called for the suspension of Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for dragging the name of Pope into local politics that has nothing to do with the Church. According to the group, Lalong should be punished for bringing the name of Pope and the Catholic Church to disrepute while giving his reasons for accepting to serve as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. Speaking as a press conference in Abuja addressed by National Convener/President, Dr Ben Amodu, said the concerned Catholics in Nigeria are alarmed that Lalong would elect to throw caution into the wind by dragging the revered Catholic Church into local politics in Nigeria for whatever it is worth. “The reference to the Pope in his statement for accepting to serve as the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council was made in poor taste and a puerile attempt to drag the Catholic Church into a matter that has no bearing with the
