Plateau State Gov-Elect Barr Caleb Mutfwang Condemns attack on Farin Lamba Community

Plateau State Governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has Condemned the attack on Farinlamba Community in Jos South local Government Area, which led to loss of lives by bandits on innocent citizens. Mutfwang condemnation over the callous attack which occurred at a mining site in the community is contained in a press statement dated 26th April 2023 , signed by Special Assistant on Media to the Governor Elect Gyang Ebere and made available to this medium. He condemned the  attack in totality and appealed to security agencies to fish out the perpetrators to face the full wrath of the law.  He also appealed to security personnel “to do all within their power to halt further attacks on Plateau communities. We cannot afford to allow acts of impunity  to continue against our peace-loving communities.” He maintained. INEC Rejects Adamawa Guber Result Declaration, Says Process Not Concluded

The Independent National Electoral Commission has invited the Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Hudu Yunusa, over the declaration of the election held Saturday. The commission disclosed this on Sunday via its Twitter handle. It noted that the process has clearly not been concluded before he made the announcement. “The attention of the Commission has been drawn to a purported declaration of winner in the Adamawa Governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) even when the process has clearly not been concluded. “The action of the REC is a usurpation of the power of the Returning Officer. It is null, void and of no effect. Consequently, the collation of results of the supplementary election is hereby suspended. “The REC, Returning Officer and all involved are hereby invited to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja immediately. Detailed statement to follow shortly.”

Hon Diket Plang Declared Winner of Plateau Central Senate Election

Former Member of the Plateau State House of Assembly for Pankshin North, Hon. Diket Plang of the All Progressives Party (APC) has been announced the Winner of the Plateau Central Senatorial Election which held on 25th February, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Dr. Jimam Lar, the returning Officer of INEC declared Hon. Diket the Winner of the election having scored 131,129 Votes to defeat his closest opponent, Amb. Yohanna Gotom of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who pulled 127,022 Votes. Chief Garba Pwul, SAN of the Labour Party gathered 36,510 Votes. Dr. Lar said Hon Diket Plang having scored the highest votes at the election and having satisfied the requirements of the law has been declared the winner of the Plateau State Central Senatorial Zone.
