Today, at jos360plustvNg decided to publish some of the most impactful people who have made positive strides in the Plateau.
1. Mr. David Daser
A native of Kagu area, Pankshin LGA, Founder of nHub, one of the most renounced ICT Outlet in Northern Nigeria, based in Plateau State capital, Jos. It was at nHub that Daser begins to make impact with a clear view to train and equip youths with requisite tech knowledge in Jos.
In December, 2018, Plateau State Govt through H.E Simon Bako Lalong Confirmed the appointment of Daser as Director General, Plateau State Information & Communication Technology Development Agency, PICTDA.
His appointment as DG PICTDA is the opportunity that exposed his inner beauty, making bare both his technical and administrative prowess to the people of the State.
The people's DG as he's fondly called, through PICTDA can boast of training over 2000 interns in the state, in the aspects of general software development, affiliate marketing and other trending courses in the field of information technology. His desire to change Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole into a competent and sustainable tech community is already in full force, beginning in his homestead.
His positive and infectious energy as a software engineer, have seen him inspired many young people who never thought they could make a career in tech, with many of them working in both state, federal governments and other lucrative organizations.
Daser have also transformed many arms of Government, Ministries, Agencies and Commissions by identifying, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting cost-effective technology solutions for all aspect of Plateau State Government business activities and also coordinate ICT development in the state.
He has scooped many awards including ICT Personality Award of the Year - 2020, Plateau State Man of the year award (Public Sector young CEO award) as well as Nigeria Tech Innovation & Telecom Award in Nov 2020.
2. Fabong Jemchang Yildam
MBBS, FMCFM, PGPN (Boston)
Second on our list is the Director General, Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, PLASCHEMA, from Langtang North.
Dr Fabong, Former Chairman, Plateau State Youth Council, the umbrella body of all Plateau youths irrespective of their political affiliations, tribal extraction or religious beliefs. A non partisan template for lobbying and engaging government to deliver quality democracy. In this capacity, Dr Fabong recorded tremendous success by creating a great synergy between the youth council and government. He constantly advocate for youth involvement in governance, while also creating awareness to the youths to support good initiatives of the government.
Before the coming of Fabong as Chairman of Plateau Youth Council (PYC), the association wasn't considered a force on the Plateau with only a few privileged sons and daughters of the state knowing about it.
Dr Fabong along with his EXCOs skillfully raised the capacity and reach of PYC through many strategic programs notably the campaign against social vices noticeably drugs and substance abuse amongst others.
In his capacity as the Director General, Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Dr. Fabong is impressively justifying his appointment with merit performance through his robust initiative in revamping the state's Health Insurance Scheme.
It can be noticed with joy the changes being brought in the public health sector, noticeably the electronic processing and transmission of the state's health data which have magnificently improved efficiency in service.
He has constantly deliver public lectures on various topics of interest particularly to curb health related pandemics in our communities.
3. Mr Joseph Lenmang
Hails Mangu LGA of the state, is of Mwaghavul descent. He is currently the Director General Plateau Peace Building Agency.
Popularly known as JoeLengs, the Peace DG have since made a name for himself having assume one of the most careful and strategic position in a state usually characterized with multifaceted conflicts of various types.
But a popular saying says "smooth sail don't make good Captains", Lenmang have recorded tremendous success through his countless engagements with youth and community elders for both preventive and curative solutions to overcome conflicts of various kinds that may arrive.
To a greater degree, there's a high level of awareness in regards to conflict management and peace resolution in the state compare to previous years, this can be attributed to many factors including Lengmang's inventive use of the social media as an easy and effective tool to engage with mostly youth and the entire population of the state.
