PRESS RELEASE The Plateau state chapter executives and members of the Alumni of Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron, wishes to congratulate the executive governor of Plateau state Rt Hon (Dr) Simon Bako Lalong and the entire citizens of the state on the historic occasion of the buy out of the Jos Inland Container Depot from the concessionaire Duncan Maritime Ventures Ltd on Wednesday December 15, 2021.  By this singular act we are of the believe that the state government will make every effort to put the dry port to good use and provide employment to our teeming youths. As stakeholders in the Maritime sector, we look forward to a good working relationship with the government and any such investor that will so declare interest in running the port. Time is ticking for President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2021into law.  Two major features of the the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2021 which initially sparked controversy are direct primaries and electronic transmission of results. The President is expected to sign the bill on or before the 19th of December, 2021. However, even while the bill is on his table, pressure from the side of the governors keeps mounting, urging Mr. President NOT to sign the bill. Why?
