The National Assembly has today (Tuesday), finally bowed to public pressure, by expunging the self-centered clause in the electoral bill recently passed into law. It now empowered INEC to use electronic voting system to transmit results.
Senate also made it mandatory for all political parties in Nigeria to now use DIRECT method only, to elect candidates - (No more consensus, delegates or harmonization in the constitution of all political parties in Nigeria).
This implys that all party card carrying members are now the ones empowered by law have to elect candidates during party primaries and congresses. There's no more room for delegates, concensus and harmonization. The hope of all unpopular aspirants who don't like participating in a proper democratic electoral contest is now dashed.
From all indication, the national assembly is the problem Nigeria has. They know the right thing to do, but are unwilling to to it, except when the people resist fervently.
