JUST IN: Plateau State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Nuhu Abok Impeached.




Following allegations by a group known as the Youths Rights Against Corruption (YRAC) who petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing the now former speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Nuhu Abok Ayuba, of abuse of office and financial misappropriation.

Members of Plateau State House of Assembly have swiftly moved to impeached the embattled speaker in the early hours of Thursday 28th October, 2021 following series of political maneuvering since the emergence of such petition.

Signed by the YRAC executive director, Comrade Abednego Musa, and titled “Petition Against Plateau State House of Assembly Speaker, Nuhu Abok Ayuba On Gross Financial Misconduct, Criminal Breach Of Public Trust And Abuse Of Office”, the group also demanded that the Speaker immediately step down from his position, pending the completion of the EFCC investigation. 

As if planned, the members of the house have heed to the advice of the group and have impeached the speaker.

2023: Catholics Berate Lalong Over Attempt To Drag Pope Into Politics

August 11, 2022  Concerned Catholics in Nigeria have called for the suspension of Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for dragging the name of Pope into local politics that has nothing to do with the Church. According to the group, Lalong should be punished for bringing the name of Pope and the Catholic Church to disrepute while giving his reasons for accepting to serve as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
