SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO THE HERO OF PAN NATION... HON MUKLA DAMA

HEROES NEVER DIE

To cap the significance of the role played by this gone but not forgotten soul, Mukla, I start with an epilogue by Walsh Porter Esq. to William Dimond in a play "Hero of the South;

"But we have Heroes, it must be confessed,
From South as well as North, from East and West,
Long, long, I trust, to grasp the immortal prize,
For he, who lives a Hero, never dies!"

Death have knocked and a Hero answered.....his people weep for the sacrifice.

On September 17th, 2021 in the capital city of Plateau State lies an energetic and vibrant young man who hails from the historical Koffiar Hills of Quaan-Pan LGA, considered a hero for his bravery in telling the truth and readiness to accept its consequences, gives up his life.

The news of his death brought the entire Quaan-Pan LGA to a standstill with the resultant reaction sweeping across the hills and valleys of Plateau State.
His death follows months of both political and ethnic tussles that saw him rise to be a voice to the voiceless masses, showing sheer bravery in defending ethnic subjugation meted against his people by some opportunists who are favoured in places of power.

He was then iIlegally detained for days in Jos Prisons where he was maltreated, fell sick and subsequently granted bail on medical ground.
After receiving a rousing reception in his hometown Namu reminiscent of the return of the Madiba, the sickness claims his life.

Both the young and the old cut across various realms of life in Quaan-Pan have expressed  shock and grave regrets as to the sudden death of such a passionate young man, but who could ever question God? Who have got the authority to challenge death? We can only succumb to the will of nature.
But posterity lives.

The vocal and bold nature of Mukla have seen him excel in politics above his contemporaries, holding various political offices/appointments since 1999 till his demise.
Notable are his emergence as: PDP Youth Leader QP LGC  2007 - 2015, Supervisory Councilor for Social Services QP 2007-2008, Legislative Aide to Senator Victor Lar 2011 - 2015, Legislative Aide to Hon. Komsol (Reps Quaan-Pan/Shendam/Mikang) 2019 till date.
He helped sponsor orphans to school, lobby for work at different government agencies for his people amongst many.

Your death leaves a big void, La Dama.
Rest on....

2023: Catholics Berate Lalong Over Attempt To Drag Pope Into Politics

August 11, 2022  Concerned Catholics in Nigeria have called for the suspension of Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for dragging the name of Pope into local politics that has nothing to do with the Church. According to the group, Lalong should be punished for bringing the name of Pope and the Catholic Church to disrepute while giving his reasons for accepting to serve as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. Speaking as a press conference in Abuja addressed by National Convener/President, Dr Ben Amodu, said the concerned Catholics in Nigeria are alarmed that Lalong would elect to throw caution into the wind by dragging the revered Catholic Church into local politics in Nigeria for whatever it is worth. “The reference to the Pope in his statement for accepting to serve as the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council was made in poor taste and a puerile attempt to drag the Catholic Church into a matter that has no bearing with the
