Cultism: Rival Lagos Schoolboys Clash In Meiran

Some pupils of two secondary schools in the Meiran area of Lagos reportedly clashed on Friday after closing time, resulting in injuries on both sides. Sunday PUNCH learnt that the warring pupils destroyed about three vehicles parked at the scene of the clash on Imulokanle Street, Meiran. It was gathered that some residents had to summon up courage to disperse the teenagers, who reportedly wielded cutlasses, knives, axes, bottles and other weapons. A resident of the area, who identified himself only as Babatunde, told our correspondent that one of the pupils apprehended by the residents was handed over to the police. He said the student told the police that he is from a school in Mulero, a neighbouring community, and was invited by one of the factions for assistance in the fight. Man Kills His 22-Year-Old Girlfriend In Anambra

A twenty-two-year-old girl has been allegedly killed by her boyfriend in Mgbakwu, Awka North Local government area of Anambra State. According to an eye witness, Mrs Ngozi Nwude,  the suspect Ikenna Oraekie had been in the habit of beating the girl despite caution from neighbours. She said, the deceased had been living with the suspect and recently gave birth about six months ago even though the bride price was yet to be paid. “She has been living with the suspect since. “She is from Enugwu Agidi, in Njikoka LGA of the state, but her mother is from Mgbakwu. “The suspect Ikenna Oraekie, was allegedly beating the girl before she suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where the doctor confirmed to him that she was dead. “Some angry youths upon seeing the corpse, descended on the suspect, beating him to stupor. Benin Republic government extends Sunday Igboho’s detention for six months

The government of the Republic of Benin has extended the incarceration of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, for another six months. Counsel to Igboho, Yomi Alliyu (SAN), disclosed that the Benin Republic government has renewed the incarceration without any hearing. Alliyu had stated that “the government of the Republic of Benin has renewed the incarceration of Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Igboho Oosa for another six months even though there is no criminal charge in their file in Cotonou and without extradition request from Nigeria.” Igboho has been in detention in Benin Republic since he was arrested at the Cotonou airport by the West Africa’s nation security forces while he was trying to visit Germany in July 2021. Presidency Slams Financial Times Editor over his post on Buhari’s administration

Malam Garba Shehu, the SSA media to President Buhari has sent a stinging rebuke to the Financial Times of London, following an article on the Buhari administration.
